At the end of the second world war, the old city of Saint-Malo was partially destroyed. The lock of the port was also in poor condition.

Georges Jamet worked on the lock reconstruction site and took a lot of photos of the final step of the reconstruction in 1950.

Another photograph took photos of the beginning of the reconstruction between 1948 and 1949. This photograph sold some of these photos to Georges Jamet.
